6 apples
150 g sugar
80 g butter
1 puff pastry sheet
Crème fraîche
Instructions
- Peel and core the apples and cut into thick wedges; preheat the oven to 190 °C.
- Melt the sugar in an ovenproof pan over medium heat without stirring and let it caramelize golden brown.
- Stir in the butter (careful, it splatters) and swirl briefly.
- Arrange the apple wedges tightly and prettily in the caramel (the bottom will be the top later) and simmer gently for 10 min.
- Lay the puff pastry over the apples and tuck the rims in all around.
- Bake for about 25 min until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
- Rest for 5 min, cover with a plate and flip boldly; serve lukewarm with crème fraîche.
