Instructions

  1. Soak the raisins in warm water for 30 minutes and drain well.
  2. Knead the flour, yeast, milk, sugar, eggs and salt for 10 minutes into a smooth dough.
  3. Work in the soft butter piece by piece until the dough shines and comes away from the sides.
  4. Cover and leave to rise for 2 hours until doubled in volume.
  5. Knead in the raisins, candied peel, orange zest and vanilla seeds.
  6. Fill into a tall paper mould, prove for another 2 hours and bake at 170 °C for 45 minutes.
  7. Cool upside down so the cake does not collapse.
