Ingredients · for 12 servings
500 g flour
150 g butter
120 g sugar
4 eggs
1 sachet dried yeast
150 ml lukewarm milk
150 g raisins
100 g candied orange peel
1 orange (zest)
1 vanilla pod
1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Soak the raisins in warm water for 30 minutes and drain well.
- Knead the flour, yeast, milk, sugar, eggs and salt for 10 minutes into a smooth dough.
- Work in the soft butter piece by piece until the dough shines and comes away from the sides.
- Cover and leave to rise for 2 hours until doubled in volume.
- Knead in the raisins, candied peel, orange zest and vanilla seeds.
- Fill into a tall paper mould, prove for another 2 hours and bake at 170 °C for 45 minutes.
- Cool upside down so the cake does not collapse.
