Ingredients · for 4 servings
600 g ground beef
1 egg
2 slices white bread
1 onion
3 garlic cloves
400 g passata
50 g ground almonds
100 ml white wine
Parsley
Flour for coating
Instructions
- Soak the white bread and squeeze it out; knead with the ground beef, egg, 1 finely grated garlic clove, parsley and salt.
- With wet hands, form walnut-sized balls and dredge in flour.
- Brown in olive oil all over for 4–5 min until colored; remove.
- Sweat the onion and remaining garlic, add the passata, white wine and almonds and simmer for 10 min.
- Place the balls into the sauce and poach covered at gentle heat for 15 min.
- Season to taste and serve hot – bread or potatoes go well with it.
