Ingredients · for 6 servings
1 head of red cabbage (approx. 1.2 kg)
2 apples
1 onion
4 tbsp cider vinegar
2 tbsp sugar
3 cloves
2 bay leaves
250 ml apple juice
3 tbsp oil
Salt
Instructions
- Shred the red cabbage finely, mix it with the vinegar, sugar and salt and let it stand for 30 minutes.
- Sweat the onion in the oil, add the cabbage and cook it briefly.
- Add the apple pieces, cloves, bay leaves and apple juice.
- Cover and braise over low heat for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the cloves and bay leaves and adjust the seasoning.
