Juicy orange cake made from torn phyllo dough and soaked in syrup.

Ingredients · for 10 servings
400 g phyllo dough
4 eggs
200 g sugar
250 ml yogurt
200 ml olive oil
2 oranges (juice and zest)
1 sachet baking powder
300 g sugar for the syrup
300 ml water
1 cinnamon stick
Instructions
- Tear the phyllo dough into pieces and let it dry in the air for 2 hours.
- Beat the eggs with the sugar until fluffy, then stir in the yogurt, oil, orange juice and zest.
- Fold in the baking powder and the torn dough.
- Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 180 °C for 45 minutes.
- Cook a syrup from sugar, water, cinnamon and orange zest and pour it hot over the cooled cake.
