Instructions

  1. Soak the herring, pat dry and cut into cubes.
  2. Dice the beetroot, potatoes, apples, gherkins and onion finely as well.
  3. Stir the sour cream together with the mayonnaise, sugar, salt and pepper.
  4. Fold everything together – the salad turns a vivid pink.
  5. Chill for at least 4 hours to let the flavours develop.
