Ingredients · for 30 servings
500 g flour
200 ml olive oil
100 ml orange juice
80 g sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp baking soda
300 g honey
200 g sugar for the syrup
250 ml water
150 g walnuts
Instructions
- Whisk the olive oil, sugar and orange juice, then add the spices and baking soda.
- Work in the flour until you have a soft, non-sticky dough – do not knead.
- Shape oval cookies and bake at 180 °C for 25 minutes.
- Boil a syrup from honey, sugar and water.
- Dip the still-hot cookies into the cold syrup and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
