Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes and slice them 3 mm thin.
  2. Butter a baking dish and rub it out with a halved garlic clove.
  3. Whisk together the cream, milk, crushed garlic, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
  4. Layer the potato slices like roof tiles and pour the cream mixture over them.
  5. Scatter with cheese and bake at 180 °C for 55 minutes until golden brown.
