Ingredients · for 4 servings
500 g edamame in the pod (frozen)
1.5 l water
2 tbsp sea salt
1 tsp coarse sea salt (flakes), for sprinkling
Instructions
- Bring the water to a rolling boil with the salt – the cooking water should taste distinctly of sea salt.
- Add the frozen edamame and cook for 4–5 min.
- Test one pod: the beans should be tender but still have a little bite.
- Drain but don't shock in cold water – just let steam off briefly.
- Sprinkle hot with coarse salt flakes.
- Squeeze the beans straight from the pod into your mouth – the pod itself isn't eaten.
