Instructions

  1. Bring the water to a rolling boil with the salt – the cooking water should taste distinctly of sea salt.
  2. Add the frozen edamame and cook for 4–5 min.
  3. Test one pod: the beans should be tender but still have a little bite.
  4. Drain but don't shock in cold water – just let steam off briefly.
  5. Sprinkle hot with coarse salt flakes.
  6. Squeeze the beans straight from the pod into your mouth – the pod itself isn't eaten.
