Ingredients · for 4 servings
500 g flour
250 ml lukewarm milk
1 sachet dry yeast
60 g sugar
60 g butter
1 egg
1 pinch of salt
250 ml milk for cooking
2 tbsp sugar
30 g butter for the pan
Instructions
- Knead a smooth yeast dough from the flour, milk, yeast, sugar, butter, egg and salt.
- Cover and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Shape small balls and let them prove for another 20 minutes.
- Heat the butter, milk and sugar in a pan and place the dumplings inside.
- Cook covered for 25 minutes without lifting the lid – a caramel crust forms underneath.
