Instructions

  1. Knead a smooth yeast dough from the flour, milk, yeast, sugar, butter, egg and salt.
  2. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  3. Shape small balls and let them prove for another 20 minutes.
  4. Heat the butter, milk and sugar in a pan and place the dumplings inside.
  5. Cook covered for 25 minutes without lifting the lid – a caramel crust forms underneath.
