Instructions

  1. The night before, grate or chop the bread into very small crumbs, spray evenly with the lightly salted water, wrap in a cloth and let rest for at least 4 hr., preferably overnight.
  2. Crush the garlic cloves, cut the pointed pepper into rings, and wash and halve the grapes.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large pan and fry the garlic and pepper rings over medium heat for 3–4 min. until the garlic is golden; remove both and set aside.
  4. Take the pan off the heat, stir the paprika into the hot oil and immediately add the bread crumbs so the paprika doesn't burn.
  5. Fry the migas over medium heat for 20–25 min., stirring constantly with a spatula, until crisp outside and light inside, falling apart like fine gravel.
  6. Return the garlic and pepper, season with salt and pepper, and serve the migas with the halved grapes straight from the pan.
