Ingredients · for 8 servings
3 packets flavored gelatin powder in three colors (85 g each)
15 g powdered gelatin
1 can sweetened condensed milk (397 g)
400 ml whole milk
200 ml water
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Prepare the three flavors of gelatin separately according to the package instructions, using only two-thirds of the stated liquid – this makes the cubes firm enough to cut.
- Pour each color into a shallow dish and chill for at least 3 hours, until set.
- Let the powdered gelatin bloom in the cold water for 5 min., then dissolve it completely over gentle heat while stirring, without letting it boil.
- Whisk the whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract and salt until smooth, then pour in the dissolved gelatin in a thin stream, stirring thoroughly.
- Cut the set gelatins into 1.5 cm cubes, layer them loosely in a loaf pan and slowly pour the milk mixture over them until all the cubes are covered.
- Chill for at least 4 hours, dip the pan briefly in warm water, turn out onto a platter and serve sliced.
