Instructions

  1. Set out the toast bread in the thickest possible slices and take the butter out of the fridge 10 min. beforehand so it's spreadable.
  2. Beat the butter smooth with a pinch of salt and spread thinly over both sides of the bread slices.
  3. Preheat a heavy pan without fat over medium heat until a drop of water evaporates instantly.
  4. Add the slices and toast for 2–3 min. per side until evenly golden brown and crisp at the edges, pressing down once with a spatula.
  5. Halve the hot slices diagonally, stack on two plates and sprinkle with the sugar and shredded coconut while still steaming.
  6. Drizzle generously with the sweetened condensed milk in thick threads and serve immediately, before the bread softens.
