İncir Tatlısı

Dried figs, simmered soft in cinnamon milk, filled with walnut halves and served chilled.

Instructions

  1. Soak the figs in lukewarm water for 15 min., drain, and snip off the tough stem ends with scissors.
  2. Set the milk with sugar, cinnamon stick and vanilla over heat in a wide pot and warm while stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Place the figs opening-side up next to each other and let simmer uncovered over the lowest heat for 25–30 min. until they swell plump and the milk has reduced by half into a cream.
  4. Toast the walnuts in a dry pan for 2–3 min. until fragrant, and let cool slightly.
  5. Press a walnut half into the bottom of each fig and return the fruit to the warm milk cream, remove the cinnamon stick.
  6. Chill for at least 3 hrs., then arrange four figs per plate with the cream and sprinkle with chopped pistachios.
